I would think that such a specialized weapon should get just a bit more of a noticeable edge over a similar customizable weapon specced to a similar build/play style, but maybe that’s just me. I dunno, I guess it just feels odd that a somber weapon locked into one AoW like this is now basically on par with a regular smithing stone weapon slotted with basically the same AoW when thrown on the same build. It absolutely needed a nerf from what I had seen it was capable of, but as it stands now, on my 55 arcane build, my occult nagakiba with double slash seems to perform almost identically as far as bleed buildup during the AoW goes, but gets a better move set with the R2 thrust, more range for all of its attacks with mildly less with the AoW, better bleed for its regular attacks, is more FP efficient, and has comparable AR but all physical. Now playing on 1.06, I’ve tried this weapon out and this may be a ‘casul git gud’ take, but I really do feel like the nerf was just a bit heavy. Didn’t want to casually cut through every enemy in the game like melted butter on my first run, decided to use an occult nagakiba with double slash for a similar feeling of style and swagger, as well as great but not over-the-top bleed buildup. So I never used this weapon prior to 1.06, my first playthrough was an arcane build but the general community reaction to how broken and widely spammed the very powerful AoW was turned me off to it. Moveset & Videos in Elden Ring for Rivers of Blood Legend says that Muramasa's swords were cursed and demonic in power, causing bloodlust to those who wield it.
